To, że kampanie wyborcze są dzisiaj prowadzone w internecie (na FB, Twitterze, blipie,blogach) nikogo już nie dziwi. Ale to, co zobaczyłam dzisiaj rano, wchodząc na Facebooka trochu mnie zaskoczyło. Ale, w sumie, każdy sposób, by przypomnieć ludziom o ich PRAWIE do głosowania (z którego raczej wypada skorzystać) jest chyba dobry.

Licznik freknwencji na Facebooku (godzina 9:37 rano)

Last presidential campaign in US was the first which relyed so heavily on web 2.0 tools : YouTube, Twitter etc.
Now, more than 100 days after the inauguration of President Obama, the  White House has decided to enter the web 2.0 world again and launched its profiles on Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. In 4 days White House’s profile on Twitter has gathered 38 K followers. Not as well as Oprah, though.

140 letters for Oprah – one big success and honour for Twitter. In her Friday’s show the queen (goddess?) of the American TV has put her own account on Twitter. with the help of Evan Williams, co-founder of the world’s famous microblogginge site, Oprah sent her first tweet: “HI TWITTERS . THANK YOU FOR A WARM WELCOME. FEELING REALLY 21st CENTURY .”

After more or less 24 hours, Ms. O had approximatly 270 K followers. Oprah herself has decided to follow for example:  Larry King, Ellen DeGenneres, already mentioned Evan Williams, Shaq  (“@THE_REAL_SHAQ thanks for being my twitter buddy. this is cool.“), Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.

Talking about Kutcher – When Oprah was fighting with blue birdy, we could witness the final seconds of the quite unprecedented twitter fight between Ashton Kutcher and the CNN. The whole challenge was about who will be the first to gain one MILLION followers on Twitter. Sounds stupid, but at Thursday’s night whole blogosphere (both celebrity and technology – oriented)  was talking only about that. The last hours brought loads of emotions  and noone was sure who would be the winner.

Round 7 A.M GMT Ashton announced, that the follower no. 1 Million has just joined his profile. Kutcher won over CNN with more or less 1200 tweeting souls.

Making thing more cute, cool and hollywood-ish, Ashton announced that as the winner he will donate 100 K dollars for special beds for people with malaria (looks like Bill Gate’s mosqito show has started a whole anti-malarian trend).

Of course we can argue whether Ashton’s triumph counts and is valid. IMHO many people who joinde aplusk account in last hours had only small idea WTF is Ashton Kutcher (OK, some famouse one, but actor? singer? …)

But it sure that in the Wikipedia’s article about the Twitter there will be satted, taht the first one, who won million followers was Kutcher. Not the good old CNN.
