Inside of the (hypothetical) Microsoft Store

leave a comment »

About week ago Microsoft has officially announced that it will open his first reatil store as early as Fall this year. What’s more, as the comany’s COO said, the firs MS shop will open just next door to the Apple flagship iStore. And how will it look inside?

Gizmodo has just published some concpetual visuals of the shop prepared by the Lippincott branding company. According to this this concept, the shop is divided on few zones, dedicated to particular products, for example Windows OS, Xbox 360, PC’s or Home Media Centre. Whole shop would be surrounded by the interactive wall, on which You would see information about promotions, coming-up workshops and demos. If You would have any problems, You should hit the Answer Bar (vide Genius Bar @Apple), where the employees of the store would answer your questions.

Moreover in the shop You could not only buy things, learn something or look for help, but even make your own private birthday party.

Here are some pics, more in the gallery here.

The moment I will buy a console

with one comment

natalDespite all my love to gadgets, new technology and so on, I’m not a maniacal gamer. OK, “Wiedzmin” (“The Witcher”) is awesome and I can’t deny that I’ve spent some hours with “Star Craft”, “Half-Life” among others. But I have managed to live without super Alienware machine made purely for playing nor PS, Xbox, Wii or even a simple DSLite or PSP.

Till now. Or more precisely till 2010 when  the new XBox 360 is said to hit the market (well, at least Steve Ballmer let fly abut it recently) It wont be just new XBox – with better chip or bigger storage. It is nearly sure that this version of popular console will be equiped with totally new accessory created by the Project Natal engineers.

The new device made for Xbox 360 will allow the player enter into the game – with no controllers, gamepads or even cordless remotes with accelerometers (like the one used with Nintendo Wii). THe black box showed recently during the E3 Show will consist of cameras and microphones, which will see and hear the player and her/his movements and changing into movements of the virtual hero. As Microsoft promises, Project Natal will start new era in gaming – no barriers, no wires – just You in the game. Well, IMHO, it has quite good chances As long as it will work like this:

If it will really work as it is claimed to work (and it will cost a bit less than 10 PS3’s) I think I will finally break and buy Xbox 360. I will have to;-)

And here’s some video form the E3 presentation:

Microsoft has launched its new web search engine which is aimed to compete with the mighty Google. BING, because that’s how the new product has been named, is claimed to be a “decision engine”, as it suppose to help us make right decisions.

This is the third time Microsoft is taking on web searches – two previous products made in Redmond were MSN Search and Live Search. But they haven’t happen to be a real rivals for Google. Bing is hoped to make a change. Well, we’ll see.

And here are the answers for query about Polska.

From The Fast Comapny Magazine

From The Fast Comapny Magazine

The “Fast Company Magazine” has just published its list of 100 most creative people in business. As FCM writes, creating the list was quite tricky, as there are no rules in creativity. So they „looked for dazzling new thinkers, rising stars, and boldface names who couldn’t be ignored.” The number one on the list is Jonathan Ive, senior vice president of industrial design in Apple Inc. This is the guy who came with the idea of bubble-like iMacs in late 90. and has worked on the real icon of XX design – the iPod. And remember the “Wall-E” movie? It was Ive who consulted the shapes and outlook of the teardrop shape EVE.

Here’s the full list of Most Creative People with Melinda Gates, Jil Sanders, Marc Jacobs and Neil Gainman among others. . Among other You’ll find there Jil Sander, Melinda Gates.
